Things to do

If you like walking Oakham Farm Treasures is a short walk from The Walnuts or alternatively a short drive, two miles, we have Tyntesfield House and Gardens and Noah's Ark Farm.

There is also the popular Victorian seaside towns of Portishead and Clevedon (with their indoor leisure facilities,  childrens play area,  boating lake and coastal walks) together with the seaside resorts of Weston Super Mare, Burnham on Sea and Brean all within a short driving distance.  

And don’t forget the historic city of Bristol with its rich maritime heritage,  harbour boat rides, the SS Great Britain and Brunell's wonderful suspension bridge. together with shops to suit all tastes and a vibrant mixture of bars, clubs and cafes is just on your doorstep 5 miles away. 

For the more energetic, there is the network of footpaths and cycle ways throughout  the surrounding area including Ashton Court,  Leigh Woods together with those followingt the canal to Bath; all of which are available and open up the countryside.  Nearby we have the Mendip Hills for our visitors to explore.

Somerset  is considered the gateway to the beautiful West Country of England and offers a wealth of attractions:
Cheddar Caves and Gorge famous for its caves and potholes, with its weird and wonderful natural formations created by the water dripping through local limestone is just 20 minutes drive away .

The cities of Bath with its elegant Regency architecture and Wells with its Cathedral make an interesting day out together with Glastonbury, Wookey Hole, and Cricket St Thomas to provide even more choice for a day out for adults as well as children.

Alternatively, should you like a game of golf we are within 15 minutes drive of six Golf Clubs (www.golfplayandstay.co.uk) or even a day fishing at two of the local fishing lakes, this can be arranged upon request.  There is also a riding school within a short distance of the holiday homes.

Our location close to the M5 puts you in easy reach of wonderful attractions for a great day out like the wild beauty of the Exmoor National Park, the Forest of Dean and the Mendip Hills.
